L-board · Experiment
What does a commune actually share?
An open learning board. Not a case study with the ending written first.
- Question
- Which parts of daily life get lighter when they are shared, and which parts need a boundary?
- Place
- Common Ground commune spaces, including Dhaanyam, and gatherings associated with the movement.
- People
- Whoever is actually living, cooking, building or visiting. Not an abstract community.
- What we tried
- Shared resources, shared work, low-consumption days, collective experiments. The public line is direct: climate solutions together, not as individuals, but as a commune.
- What happened
- The practice is ongoing. This record does not include a membership number, a happiness score, or a claim that conflict has been solved. Shared life produces friction. The friction is data.
- What we learned
- A commune is a structure for attempts, not a personality type. People enter from different places. The experiment is whether the structure can hold that, without asking everyone to become the same person.
- What others can try
- Share one tool or one meal rhythm with people you already know. After two weeks, write what was fair and what was not. Adjust the structure. Do not adjust the people to fit a slogan.
If you try a version of this, the useful reply is what happened, including the failure. Send it when you write. We would rather extend the board than collect praise.
